prepapillary vascular loop, congenital retinal loops, retinal ischemiaAbstract
A 10-year-old male patient consulted for visual scotoma of his right eye of 24 hours of evolution. Ophthalmologic examination showed positive signs of a torsioned prepapillary vascular loop and inferior temporal retinal whitening with concomitant vascular attenuation. Subsequently, computerized visual field, retinofluoresceinography and optical coherence angio-tomography confirmed the diagnosis of retinal ischemia associated with prepapillary vascular loop. The purpose of this work is to report this association, expose its possible complications and consider possible differential diagnoses. The behavior of the vascular loop after occlusion will also be evaluated.
