Our objective is to present a case of a pediatric patient with Parinaud’s oculoglandular syndrome. The patient was 4 years old and came to the emergency room with conjunctivitis and a conjunctival granuloma in the left eye that had not resolved after topical treatment indicated in another center. On inspection she showed ipsilateral preauricular adenopathy. Upon questioning the patient and her mother, a history of a cat scratch a few weeks earlier was noted. Serology and systemic examination of the patient were requested and treatment with oral azithromycin was started, with subsequent resolution of the symptoms.
We conclude that unilateral conjunctivitis that does not resolve should be studied in depth and it is necessary to consider Parinaud oculoglandular syndrome as a differential diagnosis of unilateral conjunctivitis since a prompt resolution of the symptoms can be obtained with the appropriate treatment.
