Abstract

Scleral lens wear not only has a positive impact on visual correction, but also functions as a protective method for the cornea by maintaining a constant fluid reservoir. This approach not only contributes to improved visual quality by minimizing surface irregularities, but also ensures continued hydration of the cornea. In this work we present 3 clinical cases, with good optical results and close follow-up, with the use of scleral lenses. As a conclusion, scleral contact lenses are positioned as an essential tool in the set of options to address irregular astigmatism and various corneal conditions. Their ability to provide comfort, improve visual quality and facilitate patients’ daily functionality highlights their value in ophthalmic clinical practice.
